Nikon Reticles

Nikon has a full range of reticles offered in hunting and tactical riflescopes, as well as in MONARCH Fieldscope eyepieces. Nikon builds every reticle to be recoil-proof and to offer simplicity and ease of sighting and shooting and each can be optimized using Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology.

FS-MRAD

Designed to allow a spotter to locate and focus on the same target in the reticle as the shooter (using an MRAD based reticle) and then communicate reference points and follow-up shot corrections. Includes milling scale for highly detailed measurements of targets.

FS-MOA

Designed to allow a spotter to locate and focus on the same target in the reticle as the shooter (using an MOA based reticle) and then communicate reference points and follow-up shot corrections. Includes milling scale for highly detailed measurements of targets.

MK1-MRAD

The MK1-MRAD reticle can be used to estimate range, target size, elevation holdover and wind-drift at the scope’s designated magnification. The asymmetrical design allows for additional holdover for extreme distances.

MK1-MOA

The MK1-MOA reticle can be used to estimate range, target size, elevation holdover and wind-drift at the scope’s designated magnification. The asymmetrical design allows for additional holdover for extreme distances.

SPEEDFORCE

The SPEEDFORCE glass-etched reticle was designed for both reaction-speed target acquisition and engagement, and for intermediate-range target holdovers using BDC circles and hash marks. The SPEEDFORCE is an MOA subtension reticle engineered for the BLACK FORCE1000 to enable continuous momentum from target to target and thus, excel in close-to-medium range engagements both in competition and field use.

FORCE-MOA

The FORCE-MOA is a multi-function, glass-etched reticle designed to enable continuous momentum shooting from target to target, and thus excel in close to- medium range engagements. When the BLACK FORCE100 riflescope is set at its lowest 1x magnification, the reticle’s illuminated center dot serves as a quick reference for centering on the target with both eyes open, similar to a red dot sight. At 6x, the reticle’s lower hash marks provide hold-offs for wind and holdover points for longer known ranges.

X-MRAD

The BLACK X1000’s X-MRAD glass-etched reticle presents the shooter with clean and visually simple, yet highly functional and advanced tools for estimating range, maintaining holdovers or dialing elevation come ups and compensating for wind.

X-MOA

The BLACK X1000’s X-MOA glass-etched reticle presents the shooter with clean and visually simple, yet highly functional and advanced tools for estimating range, maintaining holdovers or dialing elevation come ups and compensating for wind.

FX-MRAD

Nikon’s FX-MRAD glass-etched reticles present the shooter with highly functional and advanced tools designed with all aspects of long-range shooting in mind, including estimating range, maintaining holdovers, dialing elevation come ups, and also for compensating for wind and moving target leads. An advantage of using the FX series reticle is that it can be applied to virtually any shooting application regardless of caliber or ballistic performance. The BLACK FX1000 has the FX- MRAD reticle placed in the riflescope’s first focal plane, so holdover corrections, ranging and other measurements using the indicated reticle subtensions can be done at any magnification.

BDC

The BDC reticle allows hunters to hold “dead-on” at ranges exceeding those previously thought possible. The BDC’s unique see-through ballistic circles offer an incredible advantage for long range shooting—yet allow a normal sight picture for shorter-range shots where the crosshair itself is the aiming point.

BDC 60

Made for the Bolt XR Crossbow. The new BDC 60 reticle, when sighted-in at 20 yards with a bolt traveling at approximately 305 ft. per second, provides aiming points at 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 yards.

BDC 150

The BDC 150 reticle was developed specifically to match its “ballistic circles” to the trajectory of the .22 LR rimfire cartridge.

BDC 200

The 3-9x40 BDC 200 newly enhanced reticle is designed to be sighted in at 50 yards at 9x and now includes four “ballistic circles” that represent 100, 150, 175 and 200 yard aiming points.  The 1.65-5x36 BDC 200 reticle is designed to be sighted in at 50 yards at 5x with two “ballistic circles” that represent 100-yard and 150-yard aiming points, with the lower post representing 200 yards.

BDC 300

The newly enhanced BDC 300 reticle, when sighted-in at 100 yards on the crosshair at 9x, provides aiming point circles at 150, 200, 250 and 300 yards.

BDC 600

Developed specifically for the trajectory of the .223 Remington/5.56mm NATO round with 55 grain bullet, the new BDC 600 reticle offers shooters unique open circle aiming points at 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 yards with additional hash-marks at 250, 350, 450 and 550 yards.

BDC 800

Developed specifically for the trajectory of the .308 WIN/7.62 NATO round with 168gr HPBT match bullet.

BDC Carbine

Developed specifically for the trajectory of the .223 Rem 5.56 NATO round with 55-grain polymer tip bullet.

BDC Handgun

The BDC Handgun reticle is optimized for handguns in the following rifle calibers and bullet weights with velocities between 2500 and 2600 fps: 7mm-08 Rem., 140 gr. bullet; 308 Win., 165 gr. bullet; 270 Win, 130 gr. bullet; 30-06, 165 gr. bullet.

BDC Predator

Specifically calibrated to popular predator hunting calibers, the BDC Predator Hunting reticle utilizes ballistic circles that don’t obscure target, making shots on a moving coyote simple.  Calibrated for 223 Rem. and 22-250 Rem. Cartridges with 55 gr. bullets.

Nikoplex

Long considered the standard hunting reticle, the Nikoplex design’s heavy outer posts direct the eye toward the finer crosshairs at the reticle center for fast target acquisition.

Mildot

Choice of precision marksmen for ranging long distance targets in various conditions. All Nikon scopes with Mildot reticles include a mail-in voucher for a free (plus $4.95 S&H) Mildot Master calculator and instructions.

Point Blank

Available exclusively on the 1-4x20 M-223, the Point Blank Reticle delivers fast, extremely accurate shots from zero out to a 200 yard “point blank range” for the 223/5.56mm 55 grain projectile round. The reticle features thick outer posts for fast target reacquisition with a purpose-designed center dot that provides instant targeting paper and steel targets at various distances. Just cover the target center with the dot and shoot.

Precision

An all-new reticle named for its function—precision. The Precision Reticle is designed to draw the eye into the small dot at the reticle center, which is just large enough to create a focal point without covering a small target bullseye.

SuperSub

The all-new SuperSub Reticle is designed for the ballistic profiles of the .300 ACC Black cartridge in both supersonic and subsonic loads.
